She's an adventurous and outgoing girl of distant US heritage who feels stifled by the sterile life on starships and dreams to someday become a famous explorer and visit exciting new worlds. Her independentnstreak and love for natural sciences often puts her at odds with her more conservative parents; she feels constantly mollycoddled by them, which irks her a lot. When the story begins, a much younger Catherine runs from home to visit the Earth biospheres on her own, unaware that the OmniDemiurges have different, far more sinisters plans in store for her and her family.

She is a professional photographer and craft artists with a deep running passion for her job. Korinna attended the same college as Stefan (she studied fine arts), and they formed a sweet flirt which sadly didn't last as they lost sight of each other after graduating. Some years later, they run into each other at a photographic exhibit, and discover their mutual feelings are as strong as ever. When Book One picks up, they are planning their upcoming wedding, and Korinna is trying to bond more with her future sister-in-law Catherine despite their very different personalities. As it goes, life will show them family runs deeper than blood.

The image shows a portrait of a smiling young man with messy light brown hair and hazel eyesSTEFAN FARADAY: Son of Wendy and Theodore, older brother of Catherine. A boy of distant US heritage, he's deeply in love with the stud of alien lifeforms. Much like his sister, Stefan loves nature and planet-side environments, and is always trying to breach the gulf between Catherine and their parents. After his earliest appearance, we'll meet him again several years later, after he has become a successful xenobiologist and is slated to marry his college girlfriend Korinna. Stefan is thoughtful, levelheaded and often the only one who can talk some calm into his more impulsive sister. Through the story, he'll become tangled in shady dealings where his own life will be at stake.
